Culture and Fermentation

Description: This group will utilize yeast and other microbes to make everything from sourdough bread to beer and wine to yogurt and tofu. Much of the focus for the group will be hands-on learning and experimenting with actual food and beverage cultures, but we will also draw in and discuss the cultural rituals and histories that have emerged around the use of yeast and yeast-like creatures to make food and drink and life a more diverse experience.

Meeting Times: 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings in members’ homes or at BMC (days/times negotiable)
