Pastor-Congregation Relations Committee does the evaluating, guiding and assisting the pastor in the job of spiritual leadership of the congregation. Committee meets periodically for a few hours. May be some work to do outside of meetings. Membership is by volunteering.
Christian Education Committee plans and coordinates the adult, youth and children's Sunday School program. They are responsible for choosing curriculum materials for youth and children's Sunday School. This committee has also taken on the responsibility for the safe church program which develops procedures and practices that make exploitation, harassment and/or abuse of vulnerable members of the church community unlikely.
Worship Committee is responsible for designing and developing worship services, liturgies and other practices and trappings of the worship service. This includes finding worship and music leaders and training them. Committee meets for 2 hours a month.
First Fruits Committee is charged with allocating our church's budgeted first fruits account. This account is the "first 15%" of all receipts and is allocated by this committee to a mix of organizations and service efforts that serve the local, national and global community. Membership is determined by volunteering. Size of the committee varies. Committee meets once or twice a year for a few hours each of three or four weeks.
Finance Committee is charged with assisting the Treasurer, auditing the accounts, making stewardship presentations and working on other financial projects of the church. Committee membership is by volunteering. Committee meets when it is needed for several hours.
Mennonite Voluntary Service Support Committee is responsible for coordinating the housing, service contracts and congregational relations for the MVSers who live in our community. They also act as mentors for these volunteers who are choosing to share up to three years of their lives to serve our community.
Nominating Committee is called to find congregational associates or members who are willing to serve in the various committees and volunteer capacities of the church.
Fund for Faithful Stewardship was organized to contact and encourage stewardship of our congregational financial resources. Reducing the mortgage, increasing the usable monthly income of the church and finding ways to increase church income by giving or renting.
Fellowship Time Coordinators arrange or provide the comestibles and imbibables at the fellowship time at the end of our worship hour on Sunday mornings.
Retreat Planning Committee / Events Committee are temporary committees engaged to plan and implement retreats and other events for the congregation.
Mentor Committee is a temporary committee designed to offer mentoring or assign mentors to new members of the church.
