Description: Gordon Kaufman has been a Mennonite-ordained pastor and Harvard theologian for decades and has become forthright in saying that the traditional anthropomorphic language about God is incompatible with science. We will discuss a Kaufman book "In the beginning...Creativity", in which he suggests considering God as the serendipitous creativity in the universe, and his statement "In a way, my understanding of what it means to do theology is really a kind of updated Mennonite stand."
