Purpose: To gather together and discuss issues of concern to the entire church and with our consensus decision-making model make decisions for the church. Major policy, personnel or financial issues will be reviewed and approved at the Congregational Meeting.
Leadership: A Church Chair is commissioned to manage the business of the group and to lead meetings. The church secretary assists the Chair in communicating with the members.
Members: Meetings are open to the church membership and are generally attended by the pastor, the church secretary, a representative from the Deacons, a representative from the Trustees, the Treasurer, the chairpersons of each of the committees.
Membership Responsibilities: Come prepared to report on current efforts and discuss and solve issues and challenges for the congregation. Seek consensus and understand the power and responsibilities of the consensus model.
