Mission and Service:
The
Mennonite church emphasizes service to others as an important way of
expressing one's faith. A disproportionately large number of
Mennonites spend part of their lives working as missionaries or
volunteers helping those in need, nationally or internationally,
through agencies such as
Mennonite Board of Missions
or
Mennonite Central Committee.
As
disciples of Jesus, Mennonites try to live under Christ's rule. This can mean loving our enemies and refusing to use violence or
participate in military service, This by no means is to suggest Mennonites are passive in the face of injustice or injury. Mennonites often risk their lives to meet the needs, raise awareness of injustice and witness for those who are put upon and forgotten. We strive to live in the Way of Jesus by living peaceably with others at all
levels, serving the poor and needy, and taking risks to work actively
for justice and mercy.
Boulder
Mennonite is a church with many projects and missions. Approximately 15% of our
annual
budget goes toward supporting the organizations listed at the left of
this page in Boulder
County and the World. In addition, members of BMC support all of these
organizations with our time.
The Boulder Mennonite Church and our members are involved in outreach. Click here for more information about our projects and missions.
