Christian Peacemaker Teams
An interested group of people from Boulder Mennonite Church began a reserve Christian Peacemaker Team (CPT) group in 1998, the first one of its kind in North America. This group has grown to include a few people who are not part of BMC. They have witnessed at local toy stores (about which toys were naughty/violent and which toys were nice), in Mexico, North Carolina (after a church burning), Haiti, Hebron, and in South Dakota (against taking land from the Lakota, Sioux). Most recently a delegation went to Iraq to bring a peaceful presense to a very tense situation.They continue to be a peaceful presence in the name of Christ when they are called to go for a week or two or three at a time. |
